the beginning

…For the most part, Flickr and I have had a great relationship over the past few weeks, since we were introduced. But Flicker has been unwilling to cooperate with me lately. I can upload pictures and view my lovely photostream. I’ve added Flicker as a widget on my sidebar, and I can’t figure out how to convince my friend Flicker here to show pictures through that widget. A while ago, I started a ‘My Life‘ page in order to show pictures that represent significant events in my life. Now I want to get rid of that page, and be able to show all my photos through Flicker….but Flicker won’t let me!!! Flicker and I need a mediator to help us through…any help out there?

Hmmm…so I’m not sure what the deal is, for some reason Google Reader will not open… I check Gmail constanly, and have gotten into the habbit of checking my google reader to keep up to date with all the blogs I’m subscribed to. But for some odd reason, today I am unable to view anything on my google reader page. It opens…but the page is blank I’ve had enough of my own difficulties through out this blog concerning technology, so I’m not too surprised when things don’t go my way the first time round. But this is really weird! All my other accounts work perfectly fine, Gmail, google docs, google calendar….sigh. Hopefully google is just updating and I can get my blog fix later.

Untill everything with google gets worked out, does anyone know if there is any way to crop or change the size of pictures in blog posts?…

Where oh where has my calender gone?! I realized that my google calender doesn’t show up on my Math Wiki when I view my homepage. Which is strange, because the media link is there while I’m editing the page. I’ve been trying to fix this for a while now, and hope it works tonight when I present my final project. Any helpful hints?

Does anyone else find it interesting that Axe and Dove are owned by the same people? These commercials send opposite messages to our youth!

Ironic that Dove and Axe are both owned by the company Unilever… I think so.

Today I scanned some Education related certificates that I would like to post on my Resume page. My question is…how do I publish them to the web? First I will take you through the steps of what I’ve done so far, and then hopefully someone out there can help me figure out what to do next.

I scanned my certificates and put them in a folder for professional development. I remember Alec saying in class that we would need to download CutePDF Writer, so I did that. Once it was installed I selected a file, went to the print option and selected cutePDF writer. I followed the steps it gave me until my derticficate became a PDF file. Now there is an option to publish my PDF file on the web, so I clicked on it and attempted to follow the stps it gave me untill I had to select a service provider to host my website. The only option I had was to publish through MSN….this is where my journey ended. How do I create a host to publish on? I want to publish these PDF files on the resume page of my blog, but I need some help getting there. Does anyone know the next step?

ok, so I am having technical difficulties and getting pretty frustrated. Any advice/help would be much appreciated. First of all, I can’t seem to post video in my blog…it just links itself, as you may have noticed from my previous post. HELP! Second, I’m still having issues with my avatar. My picture does not show up, it shows me as a big black blob. Does anyone know how to solve either of these problems?

Many of you may have noticed that I have recently categorized my posts, yea me! Well today I also tried to create a new avatar, this is the picture that shows up beside any comments, etc. that I make through my blog. So, Edublogs has the option to upload a picture…I did. Then it told me to crop the picture, this is similar to cropping profile pictures on facebook…so I did that. But then instead of my avatar showing my picture, it just shows up as a big black square! Does anyone have any advice on how to correct this? I’ve tried numerous times, and nothing has come of it.

Today….about 5 minutes ago, I discovered how to make a bookmarks toolbar. Wow, does this ever make life on the web easier. Now things like my blog, facebook, gmail, and U of R website are just a click away. Another proud moment in the life of Jenna.

I am also in the proces of attempting to organize my blog better. You may have noticed that I have more than just this homepage now. However, my other pages don’t have much on them yet…actually they have nothing on them yet. It appears to me that I can either write a post or write a page, so now I need to figure out how to write posts on pages other than my homepage. This could get complicated…

So I thought I was doing prety good with my blog, I posted a video and was so proud. But now I completely forget how I did it. Yesterday I made a post, but had to link the video in stead of actually having the video on my page…which is what I wanted to do. Can someone help me out?
